This Cookie Policy explains how zochess uses cookies and similar local storage on zochess.com and the zochess web app. We keep this minimal: we use only what's needed to run the Service, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

01 What we use

Session cookie (zo_session) — a strictly necessary, HttpOnly cookie that keeps you signed in. Without it you cannot stay logged in.
Local storage — your device stores your display preferences (board, pieces, theme, sound) and a copy of your session token used to maintain the realtime connection. This data stays on your device. Inside the Telegram Mini App the session cookie is unavailable, so that stored token is the only thing keeping you signed in.

02 What we don't use

No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, and no third-party analytics cookies.

Our self-hosted product analytics does not set cookies. It uses a random identifier stored by the browser or app installation, and can be disabled at any time under Settings → Privacy.

03 Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking the essential session cookie will prevent you from signing in and using your account.
